Sandy Soe, P.E. - PB&A Inc

SandySandy Soe has thirteen years of professional experience in both structural and geotechnical design, primarily concerned with the design of shoring, underpinning and earth retention utilizing a variety of solutions for a range of development projects including soil nailing, soldier beams and tiebacks, micropiles and CIDH.

Over the past 13 years with PB&A, Ms. Soe’s experience includes providing the design and analysis of structures and detailing for a wide range of shoring challenges, including the design of a soil nail wall for Route 7 Bypass Retaining Wall 101 in Connecticut which was the first Soil Nail installation ever to be approved in Connecticut ; an earth retention design for a parking structure at Dry Creek Rancheria Casino and Resort in Santa Rosa, CA and last year added to her resume for the Engineering of Casinos, Sandy was our Managing Project Engineer for the Jamul Casino in  San Diego County.

Sandy was our lead Engineer for the Sepulveda/405 Project which included the design for a multitude of Retaining Walls, both temporary and permanent, and all of the utility shoring necessary for the highway widening.  She became the favorite of our client, Kiewit, as she was able to get her designs approved by the LABOE in record time.

Over the past two years, Sandy took the experience that she acquired on the Sepulveda/405 project, and has led our design effort for five of the Metro Stations for both the Los Angeles Metro Regional and Westside projects, where approvals had to come from Metro, City of Los Angeles and the LABOE.  These stations are mostly 100′ deep, with Wilshire Blvd remaining open to traffic over the excavations, and each station site riddled with existing utilities in a busy downtown area that needed to stay live during the excavations.  Sandy’s dedication to her work and her ability to work with the agencies has been invaluable to PB&A!
