Permanent Soil Nailing

Long-term earth retention for deep excavations and steep slopes

Permanent soil nailing is a top-down construction method used to stabilize existing ground. Steel bars ("nails") are drilled and grouted into the soil, then tied into a facing system (shotcrete, cast-in-place concrete, or precast panels). PB&A has been designing permanent soil nail walls since the early days of the technology — including the first soil nail wall in the Western United States. We use advanced analysis tools and decades of field experience to deliver safe, buildable, and cost-effective permanent systems.
