INTERNAL STRUTS

Control movement — support the excavation from within

Internal bracing systems use horizontal or inclined struts to support excavation walls. These systems are particularly effective for wide excavations or where tie-back installation is not feasible due to property line constraints or underground obstructions.

WHERE IT WORKS BEST

KEY BENEFITS

  • Urban excavations with property constraints

  • Transit cut-and-cover tunnels

  • Sites with underground utilities

  • Excavations near existing foundations

  • No encroachment beyond property lines

  • Effective for wide excavations

  • High stiffness for deformation control

  • Works where tie-backs cannot be installed
